The lobby and main areas of the hotel were clean and modern. This changed dramatically once on the room floors. Walls were dirty and scuffed, plaster was chipped and unpainted. Large areas around our door frame were damaged, plaster chipped and missing. This hotel is in no way a 4 star hotel. We were so disappointed we moved hotels as soon as we could!

    Superb

Loved the view of the Eiffel tower from outside the Receotion Area. Rooms were lovely also.

Breakfast quite expensive but food and drink in Paris is expensive generally.

    Very good

Location and convenience. The Lobby was quite nice. And the staff were helpful.

No complimentary Internet for hotel guest. I had to brin my laptop which you don't on a holiday. Other mercure hotels around Europe offer it.

The best of it is next to Eiffel Tower and easy excess to all things you like to do.

The restaurant and bar which has very limited choice and expensive. The breakfast room is amazing filled with all the things you required.

The location is good. It is near the Eiffel Tower and a train station, and you feel safe walking in the area day or night. The buffet breakfast is convenient, although not as bountiful as when I stayed there in 2005 and 2007.

There was nothing I liked about this hotel, but the location was excellent, as it is right by the Eiffel Tower.

The hotel was not to the standards expected of a 4 star hotel. Check-in was much later than promised and staff were quickly overrun by clients. Rooms were tatty and not modern. Definetely not the luxury expected of a 4 stars. Room was rushed through by the cleaners and was dirty/dusty. Air con was not working properly so we had an extremely bad night. I have now started an official complaint procedure. Thanks

When we arrived in Paris our first expierance was to get ripped off by a Taxi driver (he was black) and they are known for this you dont have to get in there cab it is your choice we arrived at The Mercure Paris Suffren to be greated by a very polite young man at reception we joked that he might have a big room with a view of the Eiffel tower although we had booked only a standard room He winked at us and upgraded us to a suite which had a toilet room seperate shower and sink room a large hallway a sittingroom with 42inch plasma tv a large bedroom with also 32inch plasma tv our room looked out at the Eiffel Tower just 200mts away our stay at this hotel was such an excellent location everything a couple with little time to spare on a 3day trip of Paris To rate this hotel we would have to give it 10/10 money well spent

    Superb

The room was spacious when compared to other hotels in Paris, enough room for two adults with 2 suitcases each plus carry ons to move around comfortably. Updated and comfortable, nice bathroom, good closet space, loved having the fridge as water etc is very expensive at restaurants, easier to buy at a store. Location was a 5 min walk to the effiel, it easy to find where your staying no matter where you are in Paris as you can see this monument from everywhere. Staff was amazing, I had to go see a doctor and lost the phone numbers he gave me for an xray appointment the following day , the staff were more the happy to call the doctor, get the numbers and make me an appointment for that day (amazing healthcare over there, and im a nurse so I would know).

The only thing I disliked about the location was the prices to eat, very expensive, two club sandwiches and two cappacinos = 38 euros. The latin quarter had much better prices, loved that areas as well. I was charged for this room a month ahead of our stay, just a heads up!

    Superb

This is an ideal hotel to be close to the centre of most things in paris. You are literally around the corner from the eiffell tower. Everything was immaculately clean. Facilities were good, excellent shower.

Only negative was that the rooms were a little on the small side but its a city hotel and smaller rooms are normal.... Breakfast was a little pricey so we ate in a cafe ( there are a few) around the corner...

    Good

Clean & safe and right outside Eiffel Tower

Quite far from main shopping and eating areas Bar is so expensive

  • 6.4
    Good

Location is good, close to Eiffel Tower and public Transport.

Hotel rates are high. The range of food available at Breakfast was poor for a grossly excessive high charge of €19.50 each. Bar prices were also high, but I expect all hotels of this type in Paris are one step away from being extortionate - at least compared to other European cities that offer great value for money. While there is a significant number of TV channels available (useful on a wet day!) - there are no channels in English!
